Philippe Pasqua / Memento Mori
Opening Reception: Thursday, June 8 at 8 pm

It is with great pleasure and pride that Zemack Contemporary Art invites you to attend the opening of internationally renowned artist Philippe Pasqua’s solo exhibition. From his very beginnings, Philippe Pasqua has deeply impressed viewers and challenged the preconceived notions of our times. Today Pasqua is considered one of France’s leading contemporary artists, whose monumental sculptures can be found throughout Paris and in important collections around the world.

The gallery’s entire space shall be devoted to the exhibition, some 200m2 spread over two stories. A number of site-specific monumental sculptures, the core of the exhibition, shall be shown on ground floor: the chrome-plated skeleton of a dinosaur and life-size olive trees with skulls and butterflies – the artist’s most well-known imagery – scattered at their feet. Among the work exhibited on the bottom floor are a new series including oil on canvas paintings, a series of photographs and various works in mixed media.
