Nirit Takele (b. 1985, Ethiopia) is a contemporary figurative painter whose work explores themes of heritage, migration, and identity. She made Aliyah (immigrated) to Israel during Operation Solomon in 1991 and is a graduate of Shenkar College’s

Department of Multidisciplinary Art (2015). Takele’s bold, color-saturated paintings depict the Beta Israel community with sculptural figures and dynamic compositions that merge classical European influences with modernist abstraction.

Her work has been exhibited internationally at leading institutions, including Zeitz MOCAA (Cape Town), The Negev Museum of Art (Be’er Sheva), Petach Tikva Museum of Art, and Addis Fine Art gallery (London)

Takele is the recipient of the Young Artist Award from Israel’s Ministry of Culture and Sports, Sotheby’s ‘Under the Hammer’ Prize, and the Artis Grant. Her work is held in major collections, including the Israel Museum, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, The Bank of Israel and

the Shenkar School Collection.
