Selected Works
Yarden Chen (B. 1992, Caesarea, Israel)
Lives and works in Tel Aviv
Chen graduated from Shenkar College of Art & design, in the multidisciplinary arts department. In her works, Chen paints her immediate vicinity – landscapes, people and objects.
These themes are only background, almost an excuse for the disruption she’s seeking through them. That disruption is created when memories and feelings intrude the clear observation, and a new chaotic, colorful, questioning space is formed.
Chen works mainly with oil, acrylics and pastels. Her works are recognized by strong vivid colors, and a gentle dance between humor, death, and the day-to-day surroundings.
